Abstract:
The Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL) has made an effort to publish the Sub-regional Integration Reports series for fostering knowledge and disseminating information on the dynamic integration process in place in Latin America and the Caribbean. As part of this integration flow, the Andean Community of Nations (CAN), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Central American Common Market (CACM) and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) have become examples for assessing the success and challenges of these ambitious initiatives. By publishing this series, INTAL's intent is to facilitate access to this information by potential readers interested in the different sub-regional environments, encompassing the public and private sectors and the community at large. The main contents of this series are the following: Macroeconomic and trade trends; Evolution of trade and foreign direct investment; Access to markets and competition conditions; Common policies, policy harmonization and other measures for deepening integration
