Abstract: (Disponible en idioma inglés únicamente) En este trabajo se presenta un marco conceptual para explicar el incumplimiento de los préstamos de las asociaciones de crédito (CU, por sus siglas en inglés) y la rentabilidad en los países en desarrollo. También se ofrece un cálculo empírico de una muestra única de asociaciones de crédito latinoamericanas.
