Abstract:
Working paper presenting a framework for data collecting and data analysis of the social roles of women relevant to the understanding of a range of demographic aspects and employment issues - considers conceptual and methodological difficulties, social anthropological approaches to role characteristics, social status and value systems, and delineates seven behavioural roles including homemaker, parent, woman worker, kinship, community, etc.
