Abstract:
Working paper describing rural migration and internal migration patterns in the East Asia and South East Asia - maintains that the character of economic growth and types of economic policies adopted conditions internal migration flows; concludes that attention to rural development at an early stage of industrialization avoids or shortens massive rural migration.
