Abstract:
Working paper on the impact of microelectronics on employment in offices and service sectors, USA 1975-1985, with projections to 2000 - studies trends in technological change, management attitudes and employees attitudes; examines employment forecasts for 1960 to 1980 incl. Enterprise level case studies; analyses the impact of automation on woman workers, part time employment and new arrangement of working time; indicates a need for developing forecasting technique based on social indicators.
