Congolese women and their success in managing small-scale economic activities

Abstract: Presents a study conducted among women working in the informal sector in two semi-urban suburbs of Brazzaville; two levels of activity were distinguished, that of subsistence entrepreneur and that of a micro- enterprise; a questionnaire was used to understand how women were managing their activity and their family responsibilities; results in a series of recommendations on measures to improve the efficiency of women' s economic activities including the types of training which would be useful.
