Abstract: Examines processes of economic integration and globalization and explores the links between these processes and the world of work. Summarizes regulatory labour standards built into the process of Latin American and Caribbean integration and investigates their effect on the labour market and on social protection levels in the region. Briefly discusses the development of the labour dimension in integration processes in Africa, Asia and Europe and examines the world of work in China and its impact on Latin American trade.
