Lifelong learning in the Philippines

Abstract: This study starts with a section on the current policy framework for lifelong learning in the Philippines (LLLP): its constitutional foundations, its weak recognition in the 2005-2010 medium term Philippine development plan (MTPDP), the poor budgetary provisions for LLL aspects of the plan, and the need for a national vision and comprehensive LLLP policy to meet the employability and decent job needs of individuals as well as the sustainability of economic and social development in the context of the globalizing knowledge and skills- based society.
