Graeme. Hugo
ILO Working Papers from International Labour Organization
Abstract:
Discusses best practices in temporary labour migration programmes in Asia and the Pacific region in each stage of the migration process including recruitment and selection, predeparture preparation, at the destination, and upon return. It gives a typology of the different types of temporary labour migration occuring in the region, and provides an overview of the issues impinging on countries' ability to adopt best practices, including the failure of governments to recognize the significance of migration, and the lack of cooperation among countries.
