Abstract: This paper discusses Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes on Senegal. Macroeconomic statistics in Sénégal generally observe internationally recognized standards and codes—with a slight variation across datasets. The legal framework provides safeguards guaranteeing transparency and integrity, and the ethical standards of the Senegalese statistical system. Senegal’s legal and administrative framework provides a foundational basis for compiling and disseminating public sector debt statistics but requires strengthening. Senegal’s macroeconomic statistics are broadly aligned with international statistical standards across most major domains, with well identified weaknesses in Government Finance Statistics. The accuracy and reliability of Senegal’s official statistics are broadly supported by long time series, regular publications, and generally adequate source data, though several weaknesses remain that warrant attention, including cross-domain coherence. The survey results indicate that Senegal’s statistical system is broadly trusted and technically sound, while also revealing areas where further improvements would strengthen transparency, accessibility, and user engagement.
