This policy brief, based on CEGEMI's research at the Catholic University of Bukavu, examines the diverse roles of associative structures in artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) in eastern DRC, highlighting both their potential to support social protection and the limitations they face due to resource constraints and organizational weaknesses.
