Abstract:
New regulations for the rural social security system are being discussed in Brazil nowadays. In the middle of this discussion, there are new definitions for the workers involved with family work in rural areas. These new regulations deserve consideration, because they guarantee more confidence and certainty in the relationship between these workers and the social security system. Nevertheless, the data collected in this paper indicate that, in fact, is very limited the number of rural workers benefited by these new regulations.
