Abstract:
Agricultural producers should evaluate trade-offs between application costs and blending fees when applying two or more fertilizer mixtures to satisfy their "ex ante" fertilizer requirements in an economical manner. This decision situation is modeled using a linear programming procedure designed for practical use as a computerized decision-making aid. Results from a trial application of the methodology suggest this aid can be of significant value to producers confronted with such decisions
