Abstract: This paper reviews the basic developments of Evolutionary Game Theory. We start with the original models, as they were conceived for the study of biological contexts. We continue with the subsequent derivations of this biological context towards economic contexts. We end the paper with a description of the present lines of research in this area and its future perspectives. En este artículo, se pasa revista a los desarrollos fundamentales de la Teoría evolutiva de juegos. Comenzamos con los modelos originales básicos, tales como fueron concebidos para su aplicación al análisis de contextos biológicos. Proseguimos con las derivaciones posteriores de este "enfoque biológico" hacia contextos económicos. Finalizamos con una descripción de las líneas actuales de investigación en esta área y sus perspectivas futuras.
