Abstract:
Bilogical diversity is an imporant naurel asset for Malaysia. This paper provides an overview of some of the key issues and challlnges facing Malaysia in the management of biodiversity. It examines three broad areas pertaining to biodiversity management: bioprospecting (the search for biotechnology application of natural biota); natured based tourism; and legislation to protect endangered species and habitats.
