Multinational Banking - Ein Literaturüberblick über Beiträge zum Phänomen multinationaler Banken
Julian zu Putlitz
Working Paper Series A from Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, School of of Economics and Business Administration
Abstract:
This paper gives a review on publications related to the internationalization of banks. Because of the great number of articles that in a wider sense deal with aspects that are relevant to international or multinational banking, a limiting selection had to made with respect to the subjects and the number of articles that are being reviewed. This paper is confined to a review of the various theoretical frameworks that have been introduced to explain the emergence of multinational banks. Furthermore, it covers the evidence of selected empirical studies on internationalization patterns, location choice determinants and the performance of multinational banks.
