Abstract:
Today, many of nonprofit organizations in Japan are young and growing. They are changing operations and methods of their activities and also linking with other various types of organizations or groups. The purpose of this paper is to explore factors of growth of nonprofits from the point of view of social networks. Our empirical investigation shows some remarkable findings regarding growing nonprofits. It is revealed that the relationship with local authorities, which is the most common link of nonprofits, does not play a role as a factor of growth of nonprofits.
