I distretti industriali tra immigrazione e internazionalizzazione produttiva

Abstract: Along the last two decades Italian industrial districts have been touched by two main phenomena: internationalization of production and international migration. While the first has been extensively studied, the latter has not received the same degree of attention. This paper shows that immigrants are a crucial element of the districts labor force, which influence their future development. National and local immigration policies have therefore implications for the economic performance of these clusters of firms, their specialization patterns and their internationalization processes.
