Furniture distribution in Poland

Abstract: Poland is the leading home furniture consumer among the New EU Member Countries, with consumption totalling about Euro 4.5 billion. Poland is one of the most important European manufacturers of upholstered furniture (imports are 30 times lower than exports). The furniture distribution sector in Poland is influenced by many factors and is recording different growth paths: increase in the number of furnishing outlets, Development of furniture chains owned by manufacturers, Expansion of the furniture/design shopping centres formula, E-commerce is becoming the principal alternative channel to traditional distribution, The potential market for imported furniture is also witnessing positive evolution. This Report, produced by CSIL, Centre for Industrial Studies, offers an analysis of home furniture distribution sector in Poland and provides an economic overview of the country; trend for home furniture consumption; breakdown of home furniture sales by distribution channel (specialized furniture distributors (furniture chains, franchising, buying groups, independent furniture retailers), non-specialist distributors (department stores, multistores, hypermarkets, DIY) and others. The analysis of furniture distribution by product/segment covers: upholstered furniture and kitchen furniture. Home furniture imports are broken down by country, geographical area and product (upholstered furniture, kitchen furniture, dining and living room furniture, bedroom furniture, non-upholstered seats and other furniture). Short profiles of major home furniture distributors with analysis of sales performance are also available.
