Abstract: North Africa, with the 17% of the total African population is a dynamic market with a considerable potential of growth, confirmed by the constant GDP growth rate expected to remain positive for 2010. The Morocco and Libya government's policy of further encouraging foreign companies to invest in their countries and the constant increasing of privatisation are creating the right conditions for the furniture industry to consolidate in this market area. The significant average increase of office furniture imports both in Libya and Morocco in the last period is a strong signal in this sense. This Report provides market trends and updated data on the office furniture production, consumption, import and exports. Office furniture production is reported by segment (office seating, operative desks, executive furniture, storage). Office furniture imports and exports are broken down by country and geographical area of origin/destination. The research is enriched by an in-depth analysisof the competitive system: the last year performance of selected manufacturers of office furniture segment in Libya and Morocco figures are included. Figures on sales and estimates on market shares of the top office furniture manufacturers operating in both countries are also available. The report also includes short profiles of leading manufacturers, as well as a list of importers and distributors in Libya and Morocco. Among the considered products: office seating, operative desks, executive furniture, filing and storage systems, other products (partitions and furniture for communal areas).
