La Determination des Salaires et le Chomage Naturel Dans la Perspective de Prospection du Marche du Travail

G. Marion

Cahiers de recherche from Universite de Montreal, Departement de sciences economiques

Abstract: In the Present Model, We Emphasize Variables Related to the Job Search Theories. the Model Rest on Temporary Inflexibility of Wage, Wages Dispersion and Modifications in the Unemployment Insurance Regime. It Also Includes a Market Variable. Changes in Wages Disparities Have a Positive Effect on Wage Variations As Predicted by Job Search Theories. But Increased Benefits in Unemployment Insurance Have Negative Effects on Wages and the Natural Rate of Unemployment. Improvement in Benefits Increased the Attractiveness of Leasure and Whence One Could Have Expected Positive Effects on Wages and Unemployment. However, These Effects May Be Reversed by Those on the Demand Side, and by the Fact That for Unqualified Workers, Present Employment, in Permitting the Accumulation of Rights for Future Benefits, May Be More Attractive.
