Abstract:
In this paper we present two structural equation models to confirm hypotheses about psychographic causes of local and commuting students´ driving. This is used to question prevailing paradigms in transport economics. Further, recommendations regarding budgetfriendly, beneficial political options to reduce the use of passenger cars are derived. These involve more participation of local non-governmental groups and moral suasion.
