No 355, Apas Papers from Academic Public Administration Studies Archive - APAS

Abstract: The aim of the research presented in this paper is to contribute to understanding of the state of Serbian nongovernmental sector's image and the respective influencing factors. The NGO's image is considered to be its most important asset, and yet our findings show that in Serbia it is rather confused and dominantly negative. The specific aim is therefore defined as the analysis of NGOs' relations with several relevant groups whose influence on the image is determined to be crucial. As it will be elaborated, media reporting and the efforts of the NGOs themselves are among dominant factors influencing the state, but also the perspectives of this image. Based on the discovered findings propositions for improvement of Serbian nongovernmental sector's image are summarized
