Abstract: The OECD Competition Committee debated the application of competition policy to the electricity sector in October 1996. This document includes the written submissions from Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, the European Commission, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as an aide-memoire of the discussion.
