Abstract: The OECD Competition Committee debated competition and regulation in the insurance industry in June 1998. This document includes an executive summary, an analytical note by the OECD and written submissions from Australia, the Czech Republic, the European Commission, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, BIAC and CEA, as well as an aide-memoire of the discussion.
