Abstract: This series of articles celebrates the 60th anniversary of the UK National Health service (NHS). The series shows how certain areas associated with health have changed over the period. Based primarily on information available in the OHE’s Compendium of Health Statistics, the articles also draw on other relevant facts and figures.
