Abstract:
This study focuses on the empowerment of housewives in Rabauh Village, Central Kalimantan, through the SIBER (Singkong Berdaya untuk Rabauh) program, aimed at enhancing the utilization of cassava as a local food commodity. Despite Indonesia's significant cassava production, local communities often underutilize this resource. The program, implemented by UPR students during their community service, involved participatory action research (PAR) to engage local women in training for producing hygienic and varied-flavored cassava chips. The methodology included workshops on production, packaging, branding, and digital marketing strategies. Results indicated a notable increase in participants' technical skills, with 86% reporting improved production capabilities and 70% applying digital branding techniques. The program fostered innovation in flavor and processing techniques, leading to unique product offerings. While initial outcomes are promising, ongoing support for marketing and sustainability is essential for long-term success. This initiative highlights the potential of local resource utilization to enhance economic resilience in rural communities.
