Abstract: This study explores the different perspectives of UIC graduates regarding education-job mismatch and interpreted it to create a possible model of its perceived causes and impacts, according to the participants themselves. The participants were two (2) female and one (1) male graduate of Business Administration who is currently experiencing education-job mismatch. The researchers’ implied semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis to gather and interpret data. They were able to form 12 themes that are divided into 4 categories that successfully answered the research questions of this study. Results show that some of the perceived causes of education-job mismatch is weak economy and inadequate job opportunities, field of study, and theory and practice misalignment. Thus, the findings of this study suggest that education-job mismatch itself is caused by a weak economy which also causes a weak economy.
