Abstract: Secara Geografis, Kota Palopo terletak antara 2o53'15” – 3o04'08” Lintang Selatan dan 120o03'10” – 120o14'34” Bujur Timur. Kota Palopo sebagai sebuah daerah otonom hasil pemekaran dari kesatuan Tanah Luwu yang saat ini menjadi empat bahagian, dimana di sebelah Utara berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Walenrang Kabupaten Luwu, di sebelah Timur dengan Teluk Bone, di sebelah Selatan berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Bua Kabupaten Luwu, dan di sebelah Barat berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Tondon Nanggala Kabupaten Tana Toraja.
