Abstract: Môi trường tự nhiên của trái đất đang phải đối mặt với nhiều thách thức và nguy cơ do hành động con người gây ra. Trong một số trường hợp, các nỗ lực bảo vệ môi trường có thể không chỉ không đem lại lợi ích cho môi trường mà còn gây ra những thảm hoạ nghiêm trọng. Bài luận này sẽ điểm qua một số ví dụ cụ thể về thảm họa môi trường đã xảy ra trong quá khứ do hành động bảo vệ môi trường của con người nhưng lại sai lầm.
