Abstract:
The present article intends to analyze the international cooperation’s role in the astronomical expedition of Sobral, Ceará, in 1919. From an interdisciplinary perspective, the article will start with a section on international cooperation and technological collaboration, followed by a brief discussion on the basis of Albert Einstein’s General Relativity Theory. Then, the article will analyze the scientifical expedition that verified the General Relativity Theory and the final section is focused on the institutionalization process of the International Astronomical Union, promoting partnership and cooperation in Astronomy and Astrophysics to this day.
