Abstract:
Social benefit bonds (SBBs), also referred to as social impact bonds (SIBs), are a very recent innovation in the fields of social policy and finance. They are profoundly challenging the conventional division between states and markets, and public and private sectors, since they involve the private funding of programs that are embedded within the provision of state services.
