Abstract: Macroeconomics is a branch of economics that studies the overall performance, structure, behavior, and decision-making of an economy. GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is chosen as the metric for measuring the national economy. Although GDP is one of the most important metrics, its use has been a source of controversy among many economists for many years. As humanity enters the information age, more evidence suggests that it is time to reconsider this metric for assessing a country’s wealth and/or development level.
