Conceptualizing AI as an Intellectual Bully: A Critical Examination

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) significantly changes how knowledge is shared, decisions are made, and discussions are held. While it can boost human thinking skills, its structured and sometimes inflexible nature raises concerns about its potential to dominate intellectual discourse. This paper looks at how AI can overshadow human reasoning, disregard other viewpoints, and support existing hierarchies of knowledge. We examine the psychological and social effects of AI's dominance, noting its tendency to marginalize diverse knowledge systems and hinder independent critical thinking. Additionally, we address the ethical implications and suggest design changes to promote a more inclusive partnership between AI and humans. Ultimately, we emphasize the importance of maintaining intellectual diversity and creating a fair knowledge ecosystem.
