Abstract: Analysis of the competitive situation will help management to decide where to compete and how to position itself against its competitors in each target market. Competitors of a company can be categorized as strong competitors and weak competitors. The success of a businessman's business is to be able to analyze competitors by looking at the strengths and weaknesses of competitors. To prepare an effective marketing strategy, a company must study its actual and potential competitors. Companies need to identify competitors' strategies, objectives, strengths, weaknesses, and reaction patterns. Companies also need to know how to design an effective competitive intelligence system, which competitors to face and which to avoid. Keywords: marketing, industry and competitor analysis
