A Comparative Analysis of New Technology Adoption in Agriculture and Manufacturing Sectors in Nigeria and Selected Countries

Abstract: This study investigates the importance of new technology in Nigeria’s agricultural and manufacturing sectors. Data were obtained mainly from online sources, libraries, and textbooks, while the analysis employed descriptive statements, tables, and charts. The comparative analysis shows that the adoption of new technology in agriculture and manufacturing has improved production possibilities in selected countries, including the United States of America, China, and Brazil, particularly in the production of crops such as maize, wheat, and rice. Nigeria’s agricultural production, however, remains comparatively low. The study recommends the aggressive adoption of modern technology, improved technological know-how, and the mechanisation of the agricultural and manufacturing sectors. It also recommends that the government provide an enabling environment and adequate facilities to encourage unemployed youths to participate in agriculture and improve food production.
