Abstract: In the fi…rst part of the paper we provide a survey (not exhaustive) of various “chains of proofs” of the Hawkins-Simon conditions for the solvability of the classical “open” Leontief input-output model. In the second part of the paper we take into consideration some variants and generalizations of the Hawkins-Simon conditions. In particular, we discuss possible generalizations of the said conditions to linear joint productions models.
