Abstract:
What was, twenty five years ago, the image about Peruvian economic history during its independent period? Which are the changes in it now and which the factors of that changes? My argue is that in the period of last twenty five years, the economic history of Peru, but especially its republican period, was dominated by the Dependency Theory frame. This insight suffered several attacks recently, especially since liberal perspective, but its main lines are stand up yet. In the last part of this article, I offer some reasons to explain the strong and durable of dependency approach to explain the economic history of Peru.
