Abstract:
The paper seeks to project a civil society perspective on Bangladesh's concerns and expectations as regards the upcoming Fourth WTO Ministerial Conference to be held in Doha during 9-13 November, 2001. In this context, from the Bangladesh perspective, the paper looks at several issues: (a) review the developments during the post-Seattle period; (b) a scrutiny of the major strands of the discourse during the run up to the Doha Ministerial; and (c) an articulation of the country's position as regards various proposals which will come up for negotiations during the Doha Ministerial Meeting.
