Abstract: The paper attempts to analyse the Boro production plan for FY2009-10, considering its special importance for Bangladesh in ensuring food security situation and keeping inflation in check. It reviews the policy measures and programmes taken so far in this regard. It also reports the implementation status of various projects for delivering inputs, namely seed, fertiliser, irrigation, credit and subsidy. Finally, the paper puts forward some suggestions for achieving the target set for production and procurement of Boro rice.
