No 18, CPD Policy Brief from Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD)
Abstract:
In the context of the COVID-19 crisis, the Bangladesh economy is facing major challenges in exports, remittance, foreign direct investment, and balance of payment. The actual performance of the economy, in terms of public expenditure and domestic resource mobilisation, is lower than the targets for the first half of fiscal year 2020. The National Board of Revenue should set a timely plan for increasing revenue mobilisation, implementing tax measures, and reducing illicit financial flows.
