Abstract:
Bangladesh is at a critical juncture in its journey toward establishing an inclusive social protection framework. In coherence with the National Social Insurance Scheme (NSIS), the government has announced its commitment to introduce maternity insurance by 2026 under the broader National Social Security Strategy (NSSS). This study provides evidencebased insights and an institutional roadmap for designing a maternity insurance model that responds to the country’s specific socio-economic and healthcare realities.
