No WP 1988-15, Working Papers from Philippine Institute for Development Studies
Abstract:
This paper reviews the trends in rural banking during the past ten years with an emphasis on deposit mobilization. Results indicate that while there has been a steady increase in rural deposits throughout the period, the proportion of total rural to urban deposits reveals a small increase. Its policy implications are discussed.
