Abstract:
This paper aims to present in a coherent systematic manner the Philippine labor market condition, in terms of employment, unemployment, wages, productivity and related issues. Historical data are presented to reflect the economic conditions and the policy environment that characterized the period under study starting in the 1960s. It analyzes the factors behind the structure of employment as well as the changing trends in productivity and wages.
