Abstract:
In connection with the goals and targets set in the country’s development plans, this paper analyzes the Philippine experience in terms of the policies and strategies it has adopted to address the problems of unemployment and underemployment. Employment trends for the period 1960-1987 are examined. The development plans are reviewed with special reference to the employment objectives, programs and strategies. How the economy performed with respect to its objectives and targets are also investigated
