No WP 1991-12, Working Papers from Philippine Institute for Development Studies
Abstract:
There is a good reason to justify the support for small and microenterprise development. At this point, what is more important is the formulation of research agenda that will facilitate the introduction of new insights into the sector’s development. This paper provides a background to the bigger objective of investigating the small and microenterprise sector. Specifically, it reviews the existing literature on small and microenterprises with particular focus on finance. It determines the research gaps and issues and develops research agenda for analyzing the growth and dynamics of microenterprise behavior.
