Production Parameter Estimates for the Philippine Nonagricultural Sectors
Maria Nimfa F. Mendoza
No WP 1992-12, Working Papers from Philippine Institute for Development Studies
Abstract:
Utilizing the Annual Survey of Establishments from 1978 to 1987, this paper makes an econometric estimation of the production parameters for the Philippine manufacturing and services sectors. The value added functions are then estimated using the translog cost functions and normalized quadratic profit functions. In addition, an inventory of translog models, which yield reasonable elasticity estimates for 15 out of 22 sectors are also presented.
