Determinants of Inflation in the Philippines

Abstract: This paper examines the various influences on general price movements in the Philippines since 1965. Model of inflation for small, open economies is developed to serve as the framework of analysis. Based on the regression results, the major determinants of past CPI increases are identified and some implications of the findings briefly discussed.
