Power and Trade: Italy and Germany in the Thirties
Giuseppe Tattara
MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany
Abstract:
This article studies the trade relations between Italy and Germany in the thirties. Power asymmetry is underlined and the different aspects of the international clearing between the two countries are clarified with new archive material. Both the dependency of Italy from German coal and the need to find adequate financing for the clearing deficit without inflating the country are discussed.
