MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: The Covid-19contagion has truly prompted human emergencies and economic tremors. It has also created a significant threat for the whole world exposing a lack of preparedness for such large-scale spread of epidemics. It has created various economic risks specifically in the financial markets of the developing countries of South Asia. Significant and abrupt reduction in economic activities and economic development of the developing and developed economies has posed a serious challenge for the future. This pandemic situation has reduced productivity, employment, transportation of goods and services, and trade. The reason behind the disruption is an underestimation of the rapid spread of this pandemic and its economic consequences in the economies. Adversely, there is no indication that this situation is improving in the near future. It is essential to adopt strategies to not only combat this situation but if it persists longer than expected, then how to live with it.
